The OPEN project continuation under the management of Lampas Foundation
We have informed you several times that the management of OPEN project has been transferred to Lampas Foundation since 01.06.2015. After the formal acceptance of the project, we could sign the cooperation agreement with our main supporter Brot für die Welt. Shortly after we signed the contract, we had the opportunity to ask for the transfer of the first instalment and to extend our activities. But all beginnings are difficult and involve many more questions. Therefore, in the first phase of the project, we considered important to clarify the questions and issues raised. Afterwards, we have signed the cooperation agreement with our partners from Ukraine – La Strada and from Germany- vij Bundesverein. The plans which were established at the workshop organized in April in Oradea, Romania now are waiting to be implemented.
The former German project managers, the vij-Bundesverein, elaborate the narrative and financial report for 01.06.2014 - 31.05.2015 period. With the completion of the report, definitely closes the project management in Germany.
The new project management team is composed from the following persons: Mrs. Judit Vincze, mission counsellor, who took over the project content coordination, enriches the project with her professional experience gained over the years. Mr. Zsolt Farkas, administrative counsellor, who has also a leadership position in the project, is responsible for the financial tasks. Mr. István Csűry, the bishop of the Western “Királyhágómellék” Reformed Church District and the president of Lampas Foundation, supports and assists the project.
The German vij-Bundesverein, as former project manager, with its experience helps the new project leaders that this very well-established project to be successful also in the future. Lampas Foundation is therefore very thankful to vij-Bundesverein. This project is connecting three countries and these countries are represented by three coordinators who cooperate very well. The three coordinators are: Mrs. Brigitte Bysh (vij-Bundesverein, Germany), Mrs. Olga Kalashnyk (La Strada, Ukraine) and Mrs. Ottilia Vura (Lampas Foundation, Romania). Mr. Tamás Gergely, who is also an employee of Lampas Foundation, is responsible for the overall management of the project. The new project management team endeavours to establish a transparent management strategy, which supports not only the prevention and counselling work, but also contributes to the dissemination of the project as well. The new project leaders look forward to the successful cooperation between the three countries and it’s a honour for them to coordinate this multilingual, multicultural and cross-border project. For the new management team the new ideas, views and constructive criticism are important. In consequence, we ask all project staff and supporters not hesitating to contact us or give us a call. Contact Mrs. Ottilia Vura for English and Mr. Tamás Gergely for German.
As Christians our commitment is to help our fellow human beings. Nowadays, more and more importance is given to the prevention of human trafficking and labour exploitation. Many women want to travel to Germany from Ukraine and Romania, in order to find high-paying jobs. However, this is not as easy as one might imagine, and easily may fall victim to human traffickers. Our project continues to raise awareness among young women on issues related to migration and helps them with information about how to get legally and safely in Germany and to work there.
We have to use every opportunity to inform and counsel young women, thereby contributing to the fight against human trafficking:
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men ...(Galatians 6:9-10a).
Jesus Christ knows our work, our weaknesses and our patience. We can be sure that He will bless our joint efforts, our counselling sessions and all our efforts that we undertake in order to prevent discrimination against women and men in our world. In closing, the team of Lampas Foundation would like to thank Mrs. Sigrid Schneider Grube for her long years of work, her commitment and her outstanding project management skills. With her dedicated work, useful ideas and experiences gave important incentives for the project team.
Mr. Tamás Gergely. Lampas Foundation. Oradea, Romania.
